////// CAPTURING THE MOMENT
A story told by Brad Zuriba:the
Brad could see the albino deer up ahead on the side of the freeway. Quickly he pulled over to the shoulder of the road. He wanted to capture this moment with his camera. He kept his camera in the truck for moments just like this.
With his camera case slung over his shoulder he snuck down the incline and hid behind a large tree. He kept his eye on the deer while Quietly positioning the camera to get the right angle. It was then that he realized he had grabbed the wrong lens!! The lens wasn't made to see wide-angle!!
So it is with us in life. Sometimes we think we are ready to capture the perfect moment when we realized that we haven't brought along everything we need to capture that moment. The most important thing we can bring along in communication and relationships is the Holy Ghost.
The next time I want to capture a moment I hope and pray I will bring along my personal study and become ready to capture the moment ////////

///// WANTING TO EXCELL
Our friend had excell on his computer. He knew how to make a few charts and cg ommand it to come up with totals but when he learned about the capacity of Xcel, it blew him away!! He was only using a small fraction of its capability. The same was true of his microwave. He knew how to program 125 minutes on the microwave but didn't use the other programs from popcorn to steamed rice that were available. So it is with Faith in our lives. It's amazing what we are able to accomplish with just a little faith but if we had any inkling of what a lot of faith could do we would be blown away. ///////

The girls finished up their Surprise party weekend for Heidi in St. George Utah❤️❤️ church (substitute for 10 year olds) , visit with Jensen, bairds then willinghams.
///// NEW BEAUTY IN OLD WOOD Our friends wanted to buy an Amish table because of their quality and they were local. They found that they had to wait a while. They were ordering a table made from an old barn but old barns have been mostly used up and they had to search for a while to find one. It was a beautiful table and must have held many memories from long ago. But it had a new purpose with a young family.
So it is in life. So. At times we feel like an old barn, discarded and no longer useful until someone with greater vision can see our beauty and put us to work with a new purpose in mind and allow our true beauty to shine again //////

Taught Sister Hale guitar lessons, volunteered at Sr. Center, P-day, we also visited at herons with their little girl that reminded me of Rachel. At night we went looking for suit for Dan's birthday. We went to five stores.

As we were driving down the road late at night Dan remarked that it was sure nice he was sure glad that they added lines on the road.
I thought how this was like life, Commandments that seem restraining are actually put there to help us stay safe and keep us from running into others.

Serving at the elementary to help kids read. Today was Dr. Suezz day!! , Dan helped at Senior Citizens Center while I rested up for the rest of the day. Went to see dr. Rodriguez about my knee, visit with Elizabeth Torres Ray and her husband, this is on video chat with Dean bags and sister Charlene Hovis
Miracle. When I was feeling very afraid my doctor appointment in Sykes and about my MRI results (maybe it is all in my head) I with able to pray and do cognitive therapy and feeling much better

7 - This morning Dan and I served with the children reading. We next got our apartment all cleaned and had sister Dunkel from the steak come have lunch with us. Afterwards we talked about marketing ideas for the Mental Wellness support group as well as how to register non-profit organizations that just serve program. I am feeling overwhelmed but grateful for the information she gave. At 4 we visited with brother McNew and shared a video of the temple. Later went to go to dinner at the sisk's house and found it had to be cancelled. Instead we went to deliver a free Bible to Nellie who had requested it. She then asked if we could pick her up to take her to church on Sunday! Later Janice and Kenny, our neighbors, stopped by to say hello and to give us them fun little surprises. Today has been one of my favorite days so far!

We went to the church to help with indexing for the Youth Conference. In the afternoon a brother came over and we went through step one.
Heidi's triathallan was today in California. She came in at 6:03! So proud of her!! Tonight I went to Bobby's baby shower at Erinwinbigler's and met her mother-in-law Sandy. Such a woman of faith and optimism in the face of lung cancer

Dan's birthday began with German pancakes. Next we went to take to pick up Nellie for church. She was the one that had asked to go.There were police there and a man who said she had accused him of going after her with a butcher knife! At church thanks it was great. The porter family was there and I'm really enjoyed that. After church Willa and Roy came over and let us teach them the Plan of Salvation. It went well. I think Roy was surprised there was so many things we agreed on. We hope they will want to have another discussion. At 4 we went to Porter's for dinner and Nanette got a birthday cake! Afterwards we read from Messiah and Alma and we discussed the five Traits of Christ. They are reading additional scriptures and we pray that Lizzy will want to be baptized. At night we were able to do a video chat with Cindy and with Heidi and their families. Dan said it was a good birthday for him.
I am thankful for some of my trials. I am trying to pray for my sister Cindy. Video how about a man who not only asked how the person stuck in the hole was doing but then he climbed down the hole with him,

Visited with Pat Willingham, hubby and son. We, had dinner then went to the family history Center with Kenny and Janice. Janice was having a very difficult day. She had a fender bender then hot naisiated
I am thankful for lamps in the study, for warmer days when we can walk together, for water, that my toe is starting to feel better, I'm thankful for the internet that I can look up even simple questions, I am thankful for are children who sent Marco Polo's and give us freely of their prayers and their lives, I am thankful 4 days when ice doesn't cover windshields and wind doesn't blow garbage can. I am thankful for my God he sent us on this Mission and is supporting us from our to our physically spiritually mentally and emotionally. I'm thankful for precious memories of beautiful people and fun Mud Eastern language (like MERCY ME, BLESS YOUR HEART AND YES MAM!!!!!!!!)
This morning we read with the kids at Franklin Dan Dan worked on his talk for church and Jonathan came over and we had a good talk come out at night they sisKS invited us to dinner at their house. Afterwards we went through the paper Dan had prepared about Jesus Christ.

Fb While trying to read the other day I found I needed more light. Our lamp has a 3 bulbs in it and sometimes I need all three. "I sure do need more light with my eyes now that I'm older" I commented to Dan. It was then I thought about how grateful I am we have more time right now for spiritual light as well. We need it as we get older and as our bodies give us more to complain about! //////////

Fb Miracle. When I was at dollar tree they had double-sided tape so I picked one up just to have it on hand. Two days later while working on a printing project I really needed it. It was there. Thanks Heavenly Father
I did errands this morning and Dan was working on his talk. He also helped me to create some invitations that have a picture of the church and the address an invitation to come to church In the afternoon we went to Brother Hales for our meeting. We learned about training other leaders. Also how to prepare a referral

Dan did a wonderful job with his talk and spoke of his Marathon and how God strengthened him and allowed him to finish in 2 hrs. 53 min. Bro. Silas was so touched and spoke to him afterward.

We tried very hard to get an appointment with someone in the afternoon when the Hovis has weren't there but it didn't happen so we ended up taking a nap in the high school parking lot!
We got to visit with Sheila and Brian Grace and also to visit with all of our kids on video chat today! How wonderful! We even got to visit with Joseph and his girlfriend Cassie.
Wake up at night we got to video chat with sister holmes.

Serving at the elementary and then a busy day at the senior citizen Center. Dan finished mom's taxes and we mailed them. By the way, he has done texts for like 5 people and not charged any of them. He is a good person. He also cleaned up the men's bathroom for them of the senior citizen place.
After that he went walking and I had my rest. Next we went to the GRECIAN steakhouse for our anniversary. at night we visited the Millers then went to the lehnhoff house. They have small children and we planted tomatoes and talked about the parable of the sower we planted seeds in POTTS
Josie also called to say she was in Cedar City hiking. She gave us an update about her job in Arizona as well as each of the kids😀

Today is the first day of spring!!! We have cat at the elementary school and then went to visit brother Burrell. He is a widower and would sure like to find someone. It's sad, he lost his girlfriend last year she died. We will pray for him. Next sister Bigler came by to get Darlas books to give to her friend Jesus Saint took his life. We are praying that you will bless her with understanding and peace. Dan then went to help out at the family history Center and I worked on finances. At night we went to dinner at the Schoens house

I also found out that Michael is going to be in dance company at Kearns. He is very talented with drama music and soon with dance.

This morning we went to the nature Conservatory with Conservation Center with Katie and her two boys. Afterwards we got the support group outline finished and sent out to about 10 people for their feedback. We had a meeting with brother Hale in the afternoon.
At night we worked more on the ward list for Missionary work and sent the outline for the support group out.
Busy, emotionally exhausting day!!!

LIFE AS A MAZE
When I was younger I recall a day when I? got a hold of one of those little toy mazes. This tiny still ball that I tried to get from the talk of the maze down to the bottom. At times it was aggravating trying to turn the toy right or left to get the ball to go where I wanted it to. Eventually I could make it to the bottom then pull he tiny handle and make it go up again. I thought today of how important it was to be able to keep my eyes open while the ball made its way down to the bottom. Had I not been able to use my eyes I doubt I could have been successful. It is the same in our own life as we know it Kate our way from birth to death it is important that we see with our eyes and hear with our ears the inspiration of the Lord so we'll know which way to turn.

When I was at a friend's the other day she was talking about her cats. She said that all she needs to do is rattle the food in their container and they will come running for their food and a neck rub.
So it is with us in our lives, the things that matter most to us have a sound or some sort of reminder or trigger. That can be triggers that relate to addictions or they can be related to choices that remind us of comfort that comes from our provider.. I pray that I will be in tune so that when my heavenly father rattles, I will come running.

My friend had to send her whose interaction with with her with always negative. It hurt her to go through that and she felt that he should act different towards her. One day her husband said quote you know what to expect so far I let it hurt anymore? And quote from that day on, it's still hurt but not nearly as much. She still prays for a better relationship in the future but she accepts what is for today

MY PRAYER FOR BALANCE
Last night I was overcome and overwhelmed by the demands of our mission here in Cape Girardeau and by the many opportunities that lie before us to serve yet many things I was perceiving as demands in our schedule and trying to achieve a balance between mission goals and making time for exercise, rest, office, P-day goals etc.
This morning I felt I needed to center my personal study around Pride and fear. The scripture that really came to my mind as I read and studied was "I given unto men weakness that they may be humble before me if men have with themselves before me. I will make weakness become strength."
The second one came from president Nelson and on his first general conference address "I will go and do the things the Lord commanded for I know that he giveth no Commandments into the children of men say he prepares a way that they may accomplish the things which he commanded them. "
Another quote was "Feelings of commitment well up from the depth of my soul"
And "I desire to give all I have and am to the building up of the kingdom of God on the Earth" (beginning with my own self)
I pray, "Father in Heaven, I pray that thou will give us strength that Dan and I might be able to do the work thou hast for us and also have balance. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen

We went to clean at the church house with Jonathan chai. At about 11 we went with Sheila Grace to Lamberts. She took us out to lunch. We had a nice visit and talked about bug zappers. After that we went to visit the Silas fam Karen and David Silas and three of their children all boys. And then at night Dan went with and then to the Barbarian dinner. Sister Langdon came over and we went shopping. I found a windchime and I found the right necklace I've been looking for. Another love note from heaven

TSA security? Real or not
TSA is short for airport security. You know you're in the middle of it and you have to put your shoes and your coat your computer and your bag on a moving belt in airport. You experience it when you stand with your feet apart and your head arms above your head while you are scanned. Today we were visiting with a military family and sister Silas said that he studies show that TSA does not improve airport security. It only gives the look of security in the airport. In our lives how much has our security is true and how much is TSA . Therefore the looks . Something to think about ? Tsa...

We both went to help kids read and Dan went to serve at citizen center and I tried to get caught up on some things. We then went to visit the Hovis family in marble Hill.
At night I messed up. I had made an appointment with the Gerber family and forgot all about it. We rescheduled for Friday. I was very embarrassed. I also took cookies to Camille and to Willa and Roy.

Franklinton Senior Citizen Center and we tried to visit Denali but she wasn't home then we try to visit with Janice Ferris but she didn't answer. We worked on more Mission office things then went for a walk with Rosemary and had a discussion. At night we visited at Smiths and had FHE.

2:30 pm Willa came knocking on the door and said that Roy was having trouble breathing so Dan took him to the hospital.
In the late afternoon we were thankful to get a call from Tiffany. She closes on her houses on Friday that may be sent to her new house. They go to Disneyland on a trip April 3rd!! At night I food p-day with finances and groceries. Dan did texting follow ups.

I was up at 3 a.m. . I was thinking about a song called lord I would follow thee and couldn't sleep so I got up and worked on transposing it. I love that song. I also thought about some members of our Ward that with the helpful to Roy since he is trying to stop smoking.
We helped Jonathan move in to his new room for rent and went out to lunch with him at Sugarfire, a barbecue place. We then also visited Roy at the hospital for a while.
At night we had dinner with Toby's then we went to visit the Owens. Afterwards I went to Willis 2 lesson. I wish I would have talked less and listen to more.

I woke up early again. This time with a sore throat and headache. I wonder if we can cancel some of our activities and get more sleep?
I am thankful that by 4:45 I was feeling quite a bit better. The ice pack helped. So did a bug zapper.

Willa called and I was able to bring her breakfast and help her some.
We went to a meeting with elder Hale, had an interview with Maddie as a possible roommate for Kiara and at night we went to the Dallascaves for dinner. They are an older couple that really loves visiting. He did a baebeque and put on quite a meal. For inspiration we share the story about Peter walking on water. We then stopped by at Ryan Willis to see how he was doing after his Hospital stay. It pretty much turned into the first discussion at least with Roy and Wiilla.

This morning we visited with the McMullen family. They had two little boys. We worked on support group how Lion and the beginning of the class content and went to Porters France is it and discussion and back over to Janice and Kenny's for a barbecue and to put up our bird feeders. At night we were going to go to State Conference but damn with sick and I was starting to feel sick.

Today is the last day of March. We have been on our mission for nearly three months! It was state conference this morning and then we had a chance to rest more after being sick
